Free Workshop Provides Coping Strategies For Caregivers of Alzheimer's Patients

Dememtia often brings about changes in behaviour and communication, and that affects family caregivers.
The non-profit Alzheimer Society of B.C. is running its free Family Caregiver Series in Nanaimo next month.
A half-day workshop provides practical coping strategies for family members caring for a person with dementia.

Topics include:
Understanding Alzheimer's disease and other dementias
Effective and creative ways to communicate with a person with dementia
Selfcare fro the caregiver
Planning for the future

When: December 7th from 1 to 4 p.m.
Where: THe Alzheimer Society Resource Centre, 200-1585 Bowen Rd.
