Hospice palliative care was established in Canada over 30 years ago. Over that time the movement has grown and evolved. The expertise in the field has developed and matured and the need for specialized service has increased.

We have reached a turning point whereby the movement needs enhanced recognition, increased funding and integration into the existing Canadian health care system. Our population is aging, and there is an increasing need for services and patient empowerment. We are ready for social change and we must seize the opportunity!
